Federal and local security forces successfully captured Miguel Sánchez Altamirano, municipal president of Juchitán de Zaragoza, alongside Carlos Alberto “N”, alias “La Parca”, during a coordinated deployment in the state of Oaxaca, according to official reports released by the Secretariat of Security and Protection Ciudadana.
The operation was executed jointly by elements of the Secretariat of Marina, the Secretariat of Security and Protection Ciudadana, the Secretariat of National Defense, the Attorney General's Office, and the National Guard, working alongside the Attorney General's Office and the Ministry of Security of Oaxaca.
Authorities confirmed that both individuals possessed active judicial arrest warrants related to charges of aggravated extortion and offenses committed against state security.
Miguel Sánchez Altamirano and Carlos Alberto “N” were detained during a joint deployment of federal and state forces in Oaxaca, holding arrest warrants for aggravated extortion and crimes against state security, federal officials reported.
According to investigations outlined by the Secretariat of Security and Protection Ciudadana, the detainees are allegedly connected to an organized criminal network operating in the Istmo de Tehuantepec region. This structure is suspected of engaging in criminal activities including extortion, protection fees imposed on local merchants, drug retailing, human trafficking, and homicide.
Federal security representatives indicated that the investigation remains active and that operations will continue to identify and apprehend all other participants involved in the criminal network.
