MEXICAN NAVY DEPLOYS OVER 1,700 TROOPS TO STRENGTHEN ENTERPRISE SECURITY AND ASSET MANAGEMENT IN MAZATLAN

In a major effort to secure vital regional interests and optimize public safety, the Secretaría de Marina has launched a permanent operational initiative deploying over 1,700 naval elements in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. This permanent framework operates beyond seasonal tourist protection programs to deliver comprehensive risk mitigation across urban neighborhoods, strategic highway accesses, coastal boundaries, and surrounding rural communities.

The operation integrates personnel from various naval commands under the Fourth Naval Region jurisdiction, which spans Nayarit, Baja California, and Sinaloa. Notably, approximately 30 percent of the active force consists of female officers, reinforcing modern organizational standards and social proximity strategies across all assigned sectors.

"We have activated a permanent security enhancement in the city of Mazatlán with over 1,700 men and women across our jurisdictional commands to scale operational readiness," explained an official naval operational representative. "This reinforces our continuous presence throughout the municipality."

To maximize coverage, the task force incorporates advanced enterprise software, specialized hardware, and modern transport assets, including:

• - 65 patrol vehicles and tactical motorcycles for agile urban navigation.
• - 25 unmanned aerial systems (drones) connected to central data analytics networks.
• - 3 state-deployed aircraft for immediate tactical support.
• - Specialized watercraft, jetskis, and surface units for complete coastal asset management.
• - The multipurpose vessel Zapoteco, providing direct logistical support and maritime surveillance.

Naval intelligence units will leverage cloud infrastructure and real-time data analytics to coordinate ground units and optimize operational continuity. Patrols will expand coverage across all suburban sectors, including northern and southern entryways, while ensuring robust corporate security principles along economic corridors. Moreover, specialized marine units will execute ground-level social proximity programs, providing direct emergency contact protocols and civic assistance initiatives to support long-term sustainable development and financial scalability throughout the coastal region.
